Unable to get revenge on his own, and with the other Avengers off doing their own things, Clint channels his anger into a murderous rage.
After Thanos snapped his large purple fingers and disappeared half of the human population in Infinity War, we saw in the opening of Avengers: Endgame that Clint Barton’s entire family was taken in the snap. In case you forgot, we already know who Ronin is. Unbeknownst to her, she’s spooked a lot of bad guys who all want Ronin dead. When Kate Bishop stumbles upon the black market auction selling Ronin’s possessions, she has to don Ronin’s suit to protect her identity and escape unscathed.
One such item was Ronin’s suit, plus his swords. With Avengers Tower destroyed, relics the team hid over the years have begun to pop up around New York City, and there’s interest in collecting the rare items the Avengers had. No, this Ronin is completely human, and someone we already know the identity of. And that’s not to be confused with the alien warlord Ronan the Accuser from Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel. He went on an all-out killing spree before the events of the show, pissed off a lot of people, then vanished. The central premise of the arrow-shooting hero’s new show is all about a mysterious boogeyman named Ronin. Oh, and Christmas is right around the corner. In the past, he’s been tied to the hip with Black Widow, but now that she’s gone, Clint has to fend for himself. We’ve only gotten updates about the character through brief scenes in movies with much bigger plots, like when we all saw Clint’s family for the first time during Avengers: Age of Ultron. A Hawkeye television show has been long overdue.
